Toitū certified and farm-traceable, this launch celebrates a singular commitment to local manufacturing and premium quality goods produced in balance with nature.
100% of the emissions associated with the leather production have been absorbed by trees growing on farms that supply Silver Fern Farms. This system actively incentivises local farmers to protect, restore, and expand native bush and tree plantings, so that farm environments are better able to capture carbon, and become more biodiverse. The leather is a Toitu Envirocare certified product to ISO 14067 standards and allows the traceability of hides throughout processing all the way back to the supplying farms.
Commonplace Essentials is proud to present this exclusive collaboration with local makers McKinlays. The new Popham style features a T-Bar silhouette and chunky sole - finished with a subtle custom signature CPD emblem.
McKinlays Footwear is a fifth generation shoemaker based in Dunedin with a founding focus on quality and traditional techniques that has remained the same since its inception - meaning that every single pair - including the Commonplace x McKinlays Anderson Slip On - handcrafted in Dunedin by a team of exceptional makers.
